You Deserve to be Pampered for
a Day!
A Taste of the "County"
Prince Edward County, a region known for its history, scenic
shorelines and a unique island character, has established as an Ontario winery destination. Prince Edward County's wine industry
is dynamic, exciting and expanding quickly. Since 1999, well
over 500 acres of vines and 14 wineries have been established in the diverse
limestone soils.
Their wineries showcase locally-grown wines that already
demonstrate their unique regional characteristics. We dare you!
If you come with us, the idea of
moving to Prince Edward County will cross your mind at least
once.
Yes, we will be
going to
the Wilton Cheese factory, pick Grapes and have a picnic lunch
at the Sandbanks winery, then on to a local FarmGate and taste
testing at two more wineries
on the last Sunday in September 2010 !
I enjoyed the trip to Picton yesterday.
It was very well organized. Meeting yourself and getting out
to socialize with such a friendly group of people
made it very enjoyable. And this is a good way to get away from
house chores, gardening stuff, etc. - A bus passenger

Sandbanks Estate Winery is situated along the
picturesque shores of Lake Ontario, minutes west of the
village of Wellington, on the Loyalist Parkway, in the heart
of beautiful Prince Edward County. Our philosophy is that
all great wine begins in the vineyard! Our family estate
vineyard was established in 2000 and now, in our 10th year,
we personally attend to our six acres of vinifera and hybrid
grapes.
Sandbanks Estate vines are planted on a south-facing
acreage within sight of Lake Ontario, which moderates the
temperature during the year. They are rooted in soil
composed of well-drained clay and limestone rock. We have
worked hard with our land, and are very happy with it.
Sandbanks Estate wines are a labour of love and created for
your enjoyment -

Sandbanks Estate Winery - lunch and grape harvesting. We
have been invited to help bring in this year's grape crop at
Sandbanks. Every year
Catherine Langlois Owner/Winemaker invites people who wish
to participate to
bring their garden gloves and gardening
shears
to help bring in the crop. You can pick as long
as you want during our stay at Sandbanks and they will show
you what to do. At this time we will be distributing
our picnic lunch which you can enjoy sitting at Sandbanks
newly renovated customer enjoyment area. Buy a bottle or two
of wine and share it with others on the bus during the
lunch. Every lunch bag will have a little wine tasting
glass in it - so don't worry about having something to taste
out of.
At
Sandbanks Winery we will have a picnic lunch for everyone
A picnic lunch will be prepared by Our Stone Cottage
Catering and consist of: 2 homemade salads with a delicious
chicken wrap, fresh baked oatmeal cookies, and a cold drink
(bottle water, diet pepsi or diet ginger ale)
Local produce will be used if available
Please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies
and an alternative lunch will be prepared for you.
Hopefully it will be a sunny
warm day! |
