on Sunday September 30, 2007
|
 |
You Deserved to be Pampered for
a Day!
We are going again on September 26, 2010
Click Here to Check It Out!
Prince Edward County, a region known for its history, scenic
shorelines and a unique island character, is now Ontario's
newest winery destination. Prince Edward County's wine industry
is dynamic, exciting and expanding quickly. Since 1999, well
over 500 acres of vines have been established in the diverse
limestone soils.
Their wineries showcase locally-grown wines that already
demonstrate their unique regional characteristics. We dare
you! If you come with us, the idea of
moving to Prince Edward County will cross your mind at least
once.
Yes, We went to
Prince Edward County and had
Wine Tasting at 5 Wineries in the Fall of 2007 !
I enjoyed the trip to Picton yesterday.
It was very well organized. Meeting yourself and getting out
to socialize with such a friendly group of people
made it very enjoyable. And this is a good way to get away from
house chores, gardening stuff, etc.

The County Cider Company, grower of ciders and fine
wines, offers a distinctive taste of Prince Edward County in the
tradition of fine British cider makers and European vintners. County
Cider has the largest orchard of European cider apples in Canada.
The restored limestone tasting room and restaurant, surrounded by an
orchard and vineyard overlooking Waupoos Island and Prince Edward Bay.
You may catch a jazz quartet on a Sunday afternoon. In celebration
of the local agricultural bounty, County Cider offers light lunches
throughout the summer and fall.

Orchard
Coast Farm Market John Murphy owns the fine big farm next
door to Waupoos Winery with its magnificent view over the bay. But
three years ago he barely knew the County. “I was sort of an
accidental tourist,” he says. He claims to have bought the farm on
an impulse but has followed through on his vision with winning
results. The working farm now has a covered marketplace selling farm
fresh produce, jams and jellies made on site and at long last, maple
syrup. |

Waupoos Estates Winery is set amidst a picturesque
vineyard that gently slopes toward Lake Ontario. Discover the beauty
of a sunset while dining outside on the terrace or inside the
beautifully-appointed dining room. Give your taste buds a treat in
the tasting room and pick a County wine that best matches your
personality. Ponder the perfect gift in the spacious and elegant
gift boutique. Our winemakers oversee the production of grapes on
the stunning estate and transform the delightful fruit into
wonderfully matched VQA approved wines. "An

Sandbanks
Estate Winery is situated along the picturesque shores of
Lake Ontario, minutes west of the village of Wellington, on the
Loyalist Parkway, in the heart of beautiful Prince Edward County.
Our philosophy is that all great wine begins in the vineyard! Our
family estate vineyard was established in 2000 and now, in our 6th
year, we personally attend to our six acres of vinifera and hybrid
grapes.
Sandbanks Estate vines are planted on a south-facing acreage within
sight of Lake Ontario, which moderates the temperature during the
year. They are rooted in soil composed of well-drained clay and
limestone rock. We have worked hard with our land, and are very
happy with it.
Sandbanks Estate wines are a labour of love and created for your
enjoyment -
