In August Biden decides to remove his troops from Afghanistan after being there for 20 years.  During the month of August, the Taliban has retaken most of Afghanistan from the Afghanistan troops and by August 15 the Taliban have retaken Afghanistan except the airport at Kabul which Biden says he will vacate on August 30. This period of time he says will be enough time to remove his troops and about 122,000 Afghanistan and Americans. t is estimated that the United States spent more than $2 trillion on the war in Afghanistan. That’s $300 million dollars per day, every day, for 20 years..

President Joe Biden has said he supports lifting intellectual property rights on coronavirus vaccines in order to increase production and make them more accessible to developing nations. Biden yesterday threw his backing behind the waiver proposal, drafted by India and South Africa, winning praise from the World Health Organization which called it “a monumental moment.” However, the drug industry is not happy, with shares in BioNTech, Moderna and Novavax down after the news broke. The E.U. is now set to hold talks on whether to follow America’s lead.

Former Police Officer Derrick Chauvin found guilty of murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Biden passes a 1.9 trillion dollar USA COVID-19 Relief Bill at the end of February.

As February starts to close down, it is reported that 500,000 Americans have now died because of COVID-19.

February 13th, the Senate has found President Trump not guilty in a second impeachment trial of his presidency.

January 19th and the President Elect Biden comes to Washington for his inauguration as United States admits that 400,000 + deaths have occurred since the start of theCOVID-19 pandemic.  Then he begins to unroll his policies such as those regarding Climate Change. January 31 the USA now totals 430,000 death caused from COVID-19.

The National Rifle Association has filed for bankruptcy and plans to move its headquarters  from New York to Texas.

The US capital early in January was  attacked by thousands of people who were incited to  attack the Capital by
President Donald Trump. DC mayor extends public emergency to 15 days after four people confirmed dead amid
violence at the Capitol.

As result of President Trump's involvement, he has been permanently suspended from Twitter "due to the risk of further incitement of violence", ....

After 30+ years of development and 10 Billion Dollars, the James Webb telescope is launched on Christmas Day to a point in space 1 million miles form earth.

Astronomers have seen light behind a black hole deep in space for the first time. The discovery proves Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity on how gravity affects space-time.

Economics

 

Lack of manufactured computer chips is slowing down the growth of manufactured items in the world.

 

People now spend more at Amazon than they did at Wal-Mart.

 

Energy

 

The world is set to add nearly 290 gigawatts of renewable power capacity this year, according to the International Energy Agency, with the Paris-based organization expecting 2021 to “set a fresh all-time record for new installations.”

Published on Wednesday, the IEA’s Renewables Market Report forecasts that the planet’s renewable electricity capacity will jump to more than 4,800 GW by the year 2026, an increase of over 60% compared with 2020 levels.

Phil Mickelson at the age of 50 wins the PGA Championship.  The oldest Professional Golf Champion. Serbian Novak Djokovik wins the French Open Tennis match. In July its the finals sports month and in hockey the Tampa Bay Lightning wins the Stanley Cup, Novac Djokovik
wins at the W ilmington Tennis Open, and Italy beat England to win Euro 2020 Soccer.

Space

For the first time in history, an object made by humans entered the sun’s atmosphere—and lived to tell the tale. NASA’s Parker Solar Probe spent five hours catching rays and collecting data in the sun’s corona before moving back out to a safer, more distant orbit.

China landed a spacecraft on Mars for the first time on Saturday May 15, a technically challenging feat more difficult than a moon landing, in the latest advance for its ambitious goals in space.

NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter has made a historic flight on Mars, marking the first powered aircraft on another planet.

Cheers erupted in mission control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as controllers confirmed that NASA’s Perseverance rover, with the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter attached to its belly, has touched down safely on Mars. Engineers are analyzing the data flowing back from the spacecraft.

Researchers in Europe (including France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland) examined data from almost 8,000 participants from a  study and found that consistently sleeping six hours or less at age 50, 60, and 70 was associated with a 30% increase in dementia risk compared to a normal sleep duration of seven hours.

At COP 26 there was no mention that one of the biggest causes of climate change is high  population densities.
